Kryst Le Grif

Writing is another passion of Krystle's.  She goes by the pen name Kryst Le Grif to keep her writing separate from her work in film/TV.  An aquarian alien queen assimilating amongst homo sapiens.  A lover of poetry with torrid affairs in short story and script writing.  She studied English and creative writing at the University of Louisville and has been published twice in Numinous magazine.  She has been critically acclaimed from her mom as ‘a beautiful writer who has Peter Pan syndrome and needs to get a real job.’

burnished

I spiral spin scroll down an

Endless enclave of an internet page

To study the faces I find more intriguing than mine.

A thumb glides seamless across the illuminated screen of perfection,

Envy seeps in..

Crawling through the opening of porcelain pores, clogging my perception

Building like cancer in the cracks

Venom pulses throughout my body

Shaking from my ribs, the raptures of this temple

The poison from the serpent warps itself around and seizes my mind

Refolding the brain

Creating a cerebrum cyclone

My mind’s eye of the storm

With deafening thunderous thoughts billowing

Dense fog clouds my vision as if a ship lost out at sea

Desperately seeking the beacon light back to solid ground.

Stir

Frayed fibers stand straight along the surface making a rough, bristly texture to touch. A hand slides slowly down and along the figure eight the rope is shaped to and brings the other end around through the hole. She wraps it around and around until she reaches her desired number of coils. Grasping the opposite end, she secures it tightly, firmly to the cool combination of steel and aluminum. She gently, softly loops it around her neck and swallows her last breath. The nylon lets out a low, soothing screech as the braided polyester becomes stretched.

Catch

Skin peels off his chest, leaving a red indentation. White lines leave a trail of where her ear was. Sweat created by his love glued her hair to the side of where he was. She looks at him disgustedly while his mind wanders in a drunk hollow stupor. Shallow breaths harp through his lungs; passion under the influence. She turns away from her stare in preparation, for looking would make it impossible. Tip toeing in her mapped path, she goes through the motions of escape. Her plan is almost completed, when he sees her.

Silence

The ends of her middle, pointer, and thumb roll the dial clockwise to scan through the stations. Her arm then moves and places those three on another dial to turn the sound to a higher decibel. Afterwards, she brings her hand back to 2 on the wheel, keeping her drive steady. A fluttering hum emanates out from the depths of her throat. Her lips part slightly apart to let out the smallest of sound. The rasping of wind against her car soothes through her ear. The culmination of noise fills the still air between them.

Nightmare

Her heart exasperates for air the moment he gives the slightest touch to the top of her cheek. His fingertip slides across her cheekbone under her left eye. As his digit moves, the skin under his knuckles quickly follow, bringing along the center of his hand, and then resting the bottom along her jaw’s line. His warm palm sends a ripple of bumps and chills through her skin. His face encases hers; a kiss, making her insides vibrate with exuberance. He pulls away as her eyes open slowly, only to see the illumination of day.
